What is your role on the AAMCO executive team?
Robinson: I am the director of franchise development. My role within the organization is to help find the ideal candidates to own and operate new AAMCO centers. We have four franchise development specialists who work on our team, and they help new candidates through the process of owning an AAMCO center.
Who is the ideal candidate to franchise with AAMCO?
Robinson: Our ideal candidate is someone coming out of corporate America. We know that typically they’ve spent a good amount of time in a high-level position, whether it be marketing, IT, accounting or finances. We want them to take their 20-25 years of high-level experience and apply it to their AAMCO center. Most importantly, they have to have a passion for leading a team and helping customers, and they have to be excited about owning a business that is a meaningful part of their community.
How does AAMCO help new franchisees become established in their businesses?
Robinson: Opening an AAMCO center is easier than one might think, and getting your business open is a fairly quick process. We have a real estate team that will go out in your market, boots on the ground, and find the ideal location for your AAMCO center. We provide support in helping you find financing options to help you take on the investment with confidence.
After you complete your four weeks of training and you’re ready to put the key in the door of your new business, you’re not going to do it alone. We assign a business coach to you for the first five weeks after opening to help quicken the ramp-up time and to provide you with assistance in mastering our proven business model.
Can an entrepreneur make a great living with AAMCO?
Robinson: Most candidates who are looking to open an AAMCO center are looking to replace a six-figure income coming out of corporate America — and our proven business model allows for enormous profit potential. That makes it easy for our owners to make a great living with only one center. We also have focused our efforts to make our business model easier to scale.
Are existing franchisees scaling up to multi-unit ownership?
Robinson: AAMCO is very proud to have many existing franchisees opening their second, third and fourth centers. This is proof that our business model has become much simpler to run and easier to scale — allowing our owners to greatly increase their level of profitability.
Does AAMCO have open territory in markets across the country?
Robinson: One might think that because AAMCO is a 55-year-old brand with more than 600 centers open across the country, that we don’t have any territory available. This is not the case. We have 1,100 open territories in prime markets across the country, and we’re actively seeking entrepreneurs to join our wonderful brand.

With nearly 650 centers across North America, AAMCO is actively seeking single- and multi-unit operators who are passionate about the brand and committed to providing the highest-quality service. Interested candidates should have a minimum net worth of $250,000 and liquid assets of at least $65,000 per unit. Depending on the real estate site selected, franchisees can expect the total investment to be $226,300 to $333,500, with a $39,500 initial franchise fee. Reduced franchise fees are available for honorably discharged veterans.
